REFUGEE AND ASYLUM APPLICATIONS
Persons with a well-founded fearof persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion may be eligible to apply for asylum or refugee status in the U.S. Generally, the alien upon entry at the U.S. border must make a declaration of Asylum. Refugees are typically processed by an international aid organization such as the U.N High Commission for Refugees and may be "sponsored" to come to the U.S. by a non-profit organization, relatives or other well-meaning individuals.
$2950-6000 - Legal fee
Government filing fees will be provided on a case-by-case analysis. Fee waivers available in these cases.
